📋 What This Light Means
| Light Color | Red |
| Symbol | Oil can with a drop from the spout |
| Meaning | Engine oil pressure is dangerously low. The engine is not receiving adequate lubrication. |
| Urgency | Stop Immediately |
🛑 What to Do When This Light Comes On
Step 1: Pull over safely and shut off the engine immediately. Check oil level with dipstick. If oil level is normal do NOT restart — have the vehicle towed. If oil level is low add oil and recheck.
⚠️ What happens if you ignore this light: Driving with this light on — even for 30 seconds — can destroy your engine. Oil pressure loss means metal-on-metal contact between crankshaft bearings and journals. Repair cost: $3000-$8000 for engine replacement.
🛠️ Technician's Notes: Low oil pressure ≠ low oil level (though low level can cause low pressure). This light means the oil pump has lost prime or the oil pickup is clogged. Do not confuse with the oil change reminder light.

Different vehicle makes may display slightly different symbols. Always consult your owner's manual for make-specific warnings.
